veritable armada of radio-controlled craft took to the lake in Wardown Park on Sunday when members of the Luton and District Model Boat Club held an open day to show off their skills. The club was originally formed as a scale model boat club but now has an active steam group as well as a small number of 'fast electric' afficionados. Chairman Dave Abbott said club members enjoyed playing about in the water, courtesy of Luton Borough Council. The club meets most Sunday mornings and enjoys hosting light-hearted regattas during the summer.
