This spring farmers are really paying the price when heading to the field. And what they are dishing most of their cash towards might surprise you. Sarah Gustin has the story. Fertilizer prices started rising last fall and they are still jumping. That ton of urea farmers paid 480 dollars for last year, is now costing them 550 dollars. (Tim Morman / Bis. Fert.) Big thing is mostly world demand. On the nitrogen side like urea China is one of the major exporters in the world of urea and they closed off all exports about two weeks ago and put a real large tariff on it so it makes it not price competitive to even try to export it out of there.
