No Jail Time For Officer Accused Of Stealing 8/23/06 Noon Ted Scouten A former Coconut Creek police officer accused of stealing money from people during illegal traffic stops is expected to plead guilty Wednesday. Michael Dunsavage is expected to change his plea during his arraignment in Broward County court. Dunsavage, formerly a Coconut Creek police officer, is accused of stealing $770 dollars from several Guatemalan day laborers after pulling them over on traffic stops, according to the Broward State Attorney’s Office. The laborers had just been paid when Dunsavage robbed them, according to the state attorney's office. The victims were undocumented workers, and the chance that they would still be around by the time the case went to trial could have put the case against Dunsavage in jeopardy, officials said.
