QTV The Place to Be ID and News Opener 1990. This promo was the second logo for QTV in 1990. The news opener was also changed to reflect the dropping of the 9 DOTS. While QTV had not yet lost the 9 Network association in the lead up to aggregation in 1991.. It was just weeks away. From January 1st 1991.. six weeks after this bulletin was recorded the News Opener was changed again to reflect the new association with the TEN Network.. and the News became QTV Eyewitness News. The Newsreader is Samantha Kume who anchored the NQTV/QTV News from 1988 through to 1994 before moving onto Brisbane and QTQ 9. From January 1991, Samantha was joined at the Newsdesk by Brisbane Veteran News Anchor Bruce Paige. During the 1990s both Paige and Kume went to Brisbane and co-anchored National Nine News in Brisbane. QTV (now Southern Cross TEN Queensland)Studios are based in Townsville Queensland.
