Confiscated Narcotics destruction is held by Ministry of Public Health on the World Drug Day in Thailand, burning 15 tonnes of illicit drugs with an estimated street value of 10,483 million Baht ( $328 million). The 36th destruction of confiscated narcotics is held by Ministry of Public Health on Thursday (June 26) to honor the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Ayudhya province near Bangkok. The ceremony before the destruction process was presided by Minister of Public Health Chaiya Sasomsap and was attended by several foreign Ambassadors as well as high level Thai officials. The 15 tonnes of confiscated illicit drugs which amount that doubled from the confiscated drugs last year. The drugs which are burnt came from 2,915 confiscate drug cases comprised of 2,913 kg of methaphetamines, 1,133 kg of heroine, 7.2 kg of ecstasy, 2.27 of cocaine, 22.26 kg of ketamine, 281 kg of codein as well as other cases and marijuana of 12,000 kg.
