The 14-year-old boy who was driving a car when it rolled and killed two 15-year-old passengers in Ajax, Ont., on Sunday had just purchased the vehicle, police said. The 14-year-old, who can't be identified under terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces two counts of criminal negligence causing death. Police say the driver was travelling at speeds in excess of 100 km/h in a 60 km/h zone when he lost control, tore through a fence and rolled the car at least three times before coming to rest in a field. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released from hospital. But a 15-year-old boy from Etobicoke and a second 15-year-old boy, from Laval, Que., were killed. While investigating the accident, police discovered that the 14-year-old was the owner of the car. He had purchased it a few days earlier as a gift for his older brother. Durham regional police Det. Dave Cormack, who is investigating the case, said it is perfectly legal for a 14-year-old to buy a...
