Verizon introduces a new, symmetrical FiOS Internet service for consumers featuring an upload and download speed of up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps). Angie, director of broadband customer experience at Verizon, demonstrates how fast uploading 501 photos is with a 20 Mbps upload connection. A broadband upload connection of up to 20 Mbps is nearly 30x faster than 768 kpbs and 10x faster than 2 Mbps cable uploads. Currently this plan is available in NY, NJ and CT (Verizon FiOS service areas). Verizon will roll out the 20/20 Mbps service plan in the 13 other states where FiOS service is available soon.
